2nd Tuesday Book Group to discuss”The Beekeeper Of Aleppo” April 13

You are invited to join us on Tuesday, April 13 at 1pm to discuss Christy Lefteri’s moving novel, “The Beekeeper of Aleppo. It traces the path of a pair of refugees whose lives have been shattered by the years-long war in Syria, and who have little hope to guide them but a cousin who awaits in the U.K. With this novel, Lefteri gives us a deeply researched, intimate look at the lives of one couple, Afra and Nuri. Narrated by Nuri, the novel weaves together two timelines: one starting in Aleppo in 2015 as the couple decides to leave Syria and make the dangerous journey through Turkey and Greece, and the other from a seaside town in England the following year, where they are applying for asylum. Copies of the book are now available for checkout. Group size is limites to fifteen participants.
