When the Wolfeboro Public Library was renovated and expanded five years ago, it was designed to be an energy efficient building that would one day be solar powered. Now, thanks to the generosity of Wolfeboro voters, a federal grant, and many local donors, our commitment to a solar powered library will soon be a reality.
The panel installation by Barrington Power and Mains Electric will begin on Tuesday, April 29th at 9:30AM. For the safety of our patrons, the driveway area will be coned and taped to force traffic to use our side parking lot. You will need to exit and enter only from the side driveway. We will carefully mark the traffic flow. When any large trucks will be delivering solar equipment, there will be a flagger on site to assist with parking. The front door and side doors will be open. The only change will be the loss of traffic flow directly in front of the library driveway. The two handicap parking spaces in our lot will remain available for disabled patrons.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this installation will cause over the next two weeks. Thank you for your patience. The result will be a savings to the taxpayers of Wolfeboro. As a bonus, to the best of our knowledge, the Wolfeboro Public Library will then be the first solar powered, heated and cooled library in the State of New Hampshire.
