Who may make an interlibrary loan request? The ILL service is available to all patrons of good standing including a current library card and no fines over $1.00
What kinds of items can be requested through Interlibrary Loan? The library will attempt to borrow any item not owned by us including books, CDs, DVDs, cassettes, VHS, magazines and magazine articles. New materials and audiovisuals may not be available from all libraries.
How do I submit an ILL request? Requests for material can be made by filling out an Interlibrary Loan request form available at the front desk of the library or requesting an item by phone at (603)569-2428.
Is there a fee associated with Interlibrary Loan? The Wolfeboro PL will always search for free lenders first. Some libraries charge a processing, shipping and handling fee, ranging from $10 to $25. These fees will be passed on to the patron. If a library does make a charge, the patron will be notified before the request is made. Payment of any fee is due when the book is picked up at the WPL.
How long will it take to get the item? Once a request is placed, it will be active until the material is received, or it is determined that it will not be possible to get the item. This generally takes between 2-3 weeks depending on a number of factors including: the item’s availability for borrowing in NH, how frequently the vans pick up materials at the lending libraries and whether the request has been made out of state and therefore must be mailed. Once an item has arrived at the library, the patron will be notified by phone or e-mail. No renewals are possible for material borrowed from another library.
What are the terms of the loan? Loan periods for ILLs are the same as an equivalent item in the library: 3 weeks from the day it’s processed for books, magazines, and CDs and 1 week from the pick-up date for DVDs. No renewals are possible for material borrowed from another library.
